beijing to luoyangxian

Question

HelloI would like to travel to Beijing to Xian.I would like to break the journey during the day to go to Luoyang to visit the Longmen grottoes and then continue on to Xian.Is this possible  in one day?If it is do have to change trains at Zhengzhou?Thank you.

You can take a early G type from Beijing to Luoyang Longmen and will arrive around noon. You can speed 3 to 4 hours there and then go to Xian by the rail around 23:00pm. If you feel the time is limited, you can choose to go to Xian the next day morning like 1 or 2 am is also OK.
