About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Visa query - going to China from the UK

I live in England and hold a home return permit. do I need to apply to enter china direct from UK without entering Hong Kong first ?

According to what I found on a forum, some people did successfully enter mainland China with their Home Return Permit without going back to HK first. If you are worried of being refused to enter, you may get back to HK first and then enter mainland China.
