Short layover in Shanghai

Iwill fly into Shanghai from Abu Dhabi on Deceber 17th. I then fly out of Shanghai to Manila, Philippines less than 24 hours later on the 18th. The flights are with different airlines and so on separate tickets. Am I till able to look around Shanghai for a few hours without a visa? If so, what is the procedure for doing this.

Many thanks

You are able to use your transfering time for look around Shanghai. You just use your valid passport and your ticket to Manila to apply a stay permit to leave the airport at the immigration in the airport.
