About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I need a visa? If so can I get it at the airport?

Next week I am landing in Guangzhou airport at 18:30 and flying out the next morning at 09:30. I have booked a hotel at the airport but it is not in the terminal building but across the road, so does this mean I am leaving the airport?... So which permit do I need and can I get them at the airport?

You need to leave the airport for your living in a hotel.
You need to apply for a stay permit to leave the airport and it can be applied at a special counter at the immigration area. It is very easy to find. Remember to tell the airline that you need to enjoy the 72-hour free transit when boarding.
