I am a Canadian. Do I need to apply for a work visa for teaching in Hong Kong?

Yes,you need to apply for it and you need to certain documents such as your employment confirmation and no serious crime record. If you want to know more detail requirements, the official website of HK Immigration Department may help a lot.
