It is suggested to go to Muxiyuan to have a look. There is a large fabric market and you can see it after you get off the bus.

Hi I also want to buy loose fabric in meters in Beijing.
I want to be able to check all sorts of fabrics for many different purposes as bedding sets, curtains etc...
Please, tell me which subway line should I take to get to this suggested place called "Muxiyuan" from the Beijing South Railway Station, which subway can I get to go there.
I do appreciate your help I am right now in China, but still very lost :)
Thank you very much!

There is no direct subway leading the market. Subway line 4 can take you to BJ South Train Station. Then you can walk to the South Square of the train station to take bus no. 665 or 652 to get off at Muxiyuan Bridge East or West. After that, you can easily walk to the destination.

Well, if you tell me your specific location, I can tell you the exact transportation... and don't worry , have a good time..

Mr. Freak 512, Just today I saw your answer. Thank you very much. I am actually planing to go there tomorrow August 29th.
I will be arriving from WuQin-Tianjin in the South of Raillway station of Beijing.
I searched for information in how to arrive there in other website and the explanation given says: "Muxiyuan is a fabric market located in Dahongmen Lu between Muxiyuan Qiao in the middle of South Ring Road and subway Line 10. Get off at Dahongmen Station, exit C2. Take a rickshaw and you will recognize Jingdu Shiji Qingfancheng by its paifang or roofed gate on the Dahongmen Lu side."

It seems a plain and clear explanation, except that I do not find this Dahongmen Station on the subway map, and that also I do not speak a word of Mandarim, and that I am here for the first time for only 1 month, and arrived 10 days ago. :)

And now seeing the directions you are giving, which is very different I am not sure what to do :)

I have tried last Saturday to go to another place in Beijing and I end up lost and not finding where I wished to go :) disaster, but I had fun.

Anyway, thank you again and if you can clarify it to me, please do so.

I have been to this Market and I followed the instructions I have posted, the subway map I had was old dated, on the new ones is easy to find the right subway line. The rickshaw guy charged me YN20.00 where it was said that would cost maximum 10.00 (It is not so close from the subway station, therefore that funky rickshaw is the best and only option)

Just one information about the place. It is very dirty, smells terrible around there, and the place is huge and not so easy to find where it sells loose Fabric. It is mainly for wholesale.

I went with the intention to buy fabrics for curtains and I did not find any, but for general sewing as clothes it is easier to find.

Prepare your mind if you want to give it a try, it is not a pretty place ;)
