About:Beijing Travel

Our guide told us the stones outside the hutongs in Beijing meant the occupation of the owner. There were 3.

We remember 2. Military, Civil official but what was the 3rd?

I am not sure whether we are referring to the same thing, but my guide told us that the round stone represents the owner was a military official, the square stone reprents the owener was a civil official and if there are lions on the stones, the owner was the relative of the emperors.
