Do I need a visa for visiting guangzhou from Hong Kong?

Hi, I am holding Australian passport and visiting Hong Kong. Do I need to apply for one if I go to guangzhou only from Hong Kong by train? (there is a policy that 3 days free for guangzhou, but I would like to stay more than 3 days.) thank you!

You need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance. 3 days exemption is only for air passengers who transit via Guangzhou. If you are now in HK, you can have a try to apply there.
