I am from Australia visiting HK and would like to go to Shenzen can I apply visa from Hk and cost pl

If you you will only visit Shenzhen for less than 5 days, and won't go to other cities in mainland China, you may just get a visa on your arrival at the Shenzhen Port. It costs about 168 RMB.

Assuming Shenzen port is HK border . I have a guide yet wad told I need to get visa from Aust or Sungapore first. Thanks for answer now I feel safe to know I can get visa at the border.

Can I buy the Shenzhen visa in advance of my trip as my tour agency goes not seem to have any idea.

You can apply for a full Chinese visa in advance in HK or Australia if you need. Shenzhen SEZ visa can only be granted at the port.
