changing hand written passport to machine readible passport

Question

Hi I have an enquiry regarding passport.Mine new passport was prepared in 2011 which is hand written (i got it from counselate in Shanghai), but i can not apply for any international conference like going to USA on hand written passport.Mine first passport was machine readible passport.Can i change mine hand written passport to machine readible passport from Shanghai besides that mine hand written passport will expire at 2016 july.But because of travelling to other countries i need new one ( machine readible one).Regards.

Hi, Pakistan consulate in Shanghai provides passport renewal service, but you'd better contact the officers directly if they accept your application for passport change. Here is their official website: http://www.pakconsulateshanghai.org.cn/en/service/detail.asp?newsid=95 Hope this may help.
