ski & nearby chengdu attractions

Question

Hi,I am visiting Chengdu from 22 - 29 Dec 2012 (return flight is by midnight of 30 Dec). I will spare 5 days for Chengdu attractions. After that, I would like to go to the Snow Mountain and visit some other places outside Chengdu. My interest is on views & landscape. Where would u suggest me to go and how many days? Is Jiuzhaigou beautiful during this time of the year? When will the Snow & Ice Festival at Xiling Snow Mountain start? Is there any entrance fees to see the festival, or to go skiing? Any idea on how much is ski rental there? Thanks.

Actually, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Scenic Areas are the must-go places when you arrive at Chengdu. But December is really not a good time there 'cause due to the snow, the scenic area may be closed then. Anyway, do not worry. You can go to Jinli Street to experience the representative Shu culture. Additionally, MT. Emei has established a skiing resort, where you can spend a happy time. Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center and Three-star Piles Museum can also be listed among your destinations. About the Snow and ice Festival, it usually starts late December, last year on 28th, Dec.yes, you need pay for the entrance fee - about 160 RMB. The rental fee for skiing tools is included in the skiing resort fee - 120RMB/ two hours.
