prohibited items???

Hi there, I have purchased a ceramic knife as a gift which will be traveling in my checked baggage back to Canada. However, I need to take the train / subway to the Shanghai airport, and understand that this item would be prohibited on board. Is this correct? How am I going to get this item to the airport? I need a fast reply!

Thanks,
Jordan

Generally, they are not allowed to take in the trains. However, some people will choose to take the knives in the pockets when going through the security check.
