About:China Transit Visa

If I arrive in Shanghai from Taiwan, and two days later fly from Shanghai to Europe via Beijing, is this ok for visiting shanghai visa-free?
The entire time between my arrival flight and departure flight in china is less than 48 hours (and so of course is my stay in shanghai).
I only ask because my departure is not from shanghai directly to outside china, there is a change of planes in beijing. Otherwise the rules are clear and ok for me.
thank you.

I think you will have to apply for a China visa.
