You should take a bus from Shanghai Long-distance Bus Terminus to Yixing. The bus station is located at the north square of Shanghai Railway Station. There are frequent buses departing to Yixing from 07:00 to 19:00. You could purchase a ticket when you arrive at the bus station. The bus fare is CNY65, and will take you about 3.5 hours on the way.
