We are planning to visit both Suzhou and Zhujiajiao in one day from Shanghai. If we take an early bus to Zhujiajiao from Shangahi, is there a bus that goes from Zhujiajiao to Suzhou? How often do they go to Suzhou? Is it far? How much?

I am afrain no direct bus from Zhujiajiao to Suzhou. You can get to Zhouzhuang, which is also a famous water town then change to buses to Suzhou. Zhouzhuang is 45 minutes drive from Zhujiajiao and still two hours to Suzhou city. So, one day is not enough.
